The Latest

September 11, 2008

It’s been a while since I’ve updated, and we have a lot going on. First, Roland is doing rewrites for Descent of the Whirlwind. They have an assistant director on board with experience in working on major films (i.e. the bond films, etc.). As most of your know, this process is a long one, but if we get this made; it’s going to be awesome. I’m still developing the screenplay for We Were Fabulous, and I’ve started working on a documentary. Pre-production is in full swing on the documentary, and we should be shooting in a week. Shooting will take place over the next year. Wanna know more? Check out our “Projects” page.

Hello Everyone, last I posted we were in development on a short flick, Toll for Your Soul and We Were Fabulous; well we’re still working on the screenplays for these projects. It’s a long road to getting it right where you want it.

However, in the meantime, we’re full steam ahead with Soapbox Empress, “A free-thinking forum designed to exercise our constitutional freedom of expression and corrode the non-constitutional political correctness that plagues popular mainstream media today.” A new webisode will be uploaded every 2 - 3 weeks, and will feature a new topic.

Our first webisode topic are the “FYITA Fee’s!!”. If you don’t know what that means, tune it at: http://www.youtube.com/soapboxempress.

We’re shooting for a March 31st launch date.

Be Silent No More!!
Peace!!

We have a few screenplays we are developing, in the hopes of shooting our next short Toll for Your Soul in Spring/Summer 2008, and our first full length feature film We Were Fabulous (more details to follow on this project) in 2009.

We’re searching for a few screenwriters we can collaborate with on a pro-bono basis to help us develop our ideas. We are placing ads nationwide; if you know of anyone, please have them submit a sample of their work to us via email.

We continue to submit Man’s Best Friend for submission to film festivals; we haven’t had any takers yet, however, we are receiving daily hits to our website to view the movie. We’re going to continue to submit, and will let everyone know should we get accepted.

We have been out of touch for a while. We hope you all are well and everything in your life is good. We want to update everyone as to what was happening with 4:28 Productions and with Man’s Best Friend.

4:28 Productions has several projects in development. We have a couple of feature length screenplays (perfect for low, low budget) we are developing, along with a few artsy shorts. Man’s Best Friend was not selected by SIFF (I knew they’d reject us) or by STIFF (We were both disappointed). However, we will continue to enter Man’s Best Friend into qualifying film festivals, and will let everyone know should we get accepted.

We’re Done!! Yes!! We have completed editing Man’s Best Friend. It looks good. Hats off and much thanks to Jonh Schwartz with 911 Media Arts Center; he was putting in double time to get this done for us in the time frame needed. Currently, we are working on the DVD Cover Art, the DVD extras, and the movie trailer, which will be online within the next week or so

The best compliment so far is, “with this being your first movie, this is better than I thought it would be”. The movie is funny and we feel good about putting it out there.

We’re going to submit Man’s Best Friend for entry into 9+ film festivals (2 in Seattle) in the US and 1 in Sweden. Cross your fingers.

We’re going to premiere the movie to cast, crew, and friends of only. The tentative date is Saturday, March 10th. We’ll keep you posted.

Happy New Year!! We’re in full post production swing on Man’s Best Friend. All is looking good. We’ve put a tight deadline due to deadlines we’re up against, so we will be completely focused on getting this project completely wrapped.

Also, we’re in development on our next project, which we hope to shoot this spring. We thought we were set on one story, but it just didn’t feel right. So, currently we are shopping for short stories to develop. For more information: Click Here.

It’s a Wrap!!
We’ve wrapped up principle shooting on Man’s Best Friend. Again, thanks to everyone involved; cast & crew for your dedication to this project and your professionalism. We couldn’t have done it without you! We will have to do some additional recording at Jack Straw Productions for the voice over of the couch. We are shooting for the movie to premiere in January 2007

November 6, 2006

We are finally in production on Man’s Best Friend. Shooting will take place November 11th and 12th, and 18th, 2006; with a release date of January 2007.

Here’s the latest. We’ve cast the role of THE FRIEND. We are still looking for THE GUY. We will be making some final decisions on this within the next week. We have 1 guy I think may work, but we’re looking at a few more to be sure. As you all know, getting the right actor is about as important as it gets. We have a great group now, and we want to make sure the person we select for this role is the best fit. However we want to get this project done, because we’re already in development on our next 2 projects. We’re still looking to start shooting on 11/4. The shooting schedule will be finalized once we have everyone on board.

October 10, 2006

Chances are, our shoot dates of 10/21 & 10/22 are going to be pushed out. If so, this will put our first shoot date to 11/4. This is because we have not found the role of THE GUY and FRIEND. We’re working on it and have some interest out there. Hopefully we can get commitments in time to keep our original shoot dates of 10/21 & 10/22. Roland has a specific look he’s going for with the guy and his friend.

As soon as we get THE GUY and THE FRIEND things are going to move pretty fast. Crew will need to have one prep meeting and Talent will need to have one rehearsal/table read.

Please keep in mind that we still need at least 10 extras for the party scenes. If you have any friends/family that may be interested, please let us know.

Even though we have a good prosumer DV (Canon GL2); we’re going to rent a Panasonic DVX100 for this project, because of its 24fps shooting capability. This will give the project that film look that we want.

Roland has been buried working (on his paying job) and doing a re-write on a screenplay he wrote for a production company out of the UK. He should have this wrapped up this week. At which point he will make a few revisions to Man’s Best Friend.

September 26, 2006

We recorded Phil’s voice over on Sunday. It went very well. We were all laughing!, even the audio technician; that may be a sign.

We’re holding auditions this Saturday.

We’re considering upgrading the camera equipment for this project to a Panasonic DVX100, since this will get us closer to the film quality that we want.
